The journey that shaped ViableThings

With over 15 years of experience, my work sits at the intersection of industrial design and venture building, developing physical and connected products that make it to market.

The scope spans the full trajectory: from early sketches and concept development through prototyping and user testing, to engineering, production, validation and certification, and ultimately launch. Along the way, several of the products I worked on have received international design awards.

Alongside this design practice, I have built multiple start-ups and worked in CPO and CEO roles. This experience has shaped a strong understanding of how design decisions, technical feasibility and business realities intersect, and what it takes to make products commercially viable. Multidisciplinary teams of designers and engineers have been led, IP portfolios built, and funding raised across these ventures.

At the same time, it became clear that this process only works when there is clarity, alignment and sound decision-making. For that reason, industrial design is combined with facilitating ideation, shaping propositions and guiding teams and founders through complex moments.

Rather than consulting from a distance, the work happens alongside teams and founders; hands-on in the design process, while keeping an overview of the whole. By doing this, I help ideas grow into well-designed, manufacturable products with real relevance in the market.
